Amy B. Fraser

Dr. Amy Fraser is an Anesthesiologist at The Ottawa Hospital, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. She has held multiple leadership positions in medical education at these institutions, including Coordinator of Undergraduate Anesthesia Simulation, Anesthesia Fellowship Program Director, Steering Committee member for Competency-Based (CB) Anesthesia Education, and CB Scholarship Lead. Since 2009, she has served as a Simulation Instructor at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre, and has led invited Simulation workshops at national and international conferences. She is active in teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and faculty levels. Her research interests include knowledge translation in medical education, technical skills training in simulated environments, and simulation-based team training.

Dr. Fraser received her M.D. from Queen’s University in 2002. She completed her Anesthesia training at the University of Ottawa, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in 2007. In 2014, she received her Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois (Chicago). She joined the Department of Anesthesiology at The Ottawa Hospital in 2007.
